Alva was one of the first brands we tried. They're a reallt great budget option, and once I added some extra boosters I couldn't fault them. They're a staple in our stash! Definitely recommend.
I'd give a higher rating if they came with a bamboo booster.

Alva prints are beautiful! We have a few of these nappies in our stash and I really like them! We have never had an issues with leaking, however I do use different brand inserts inside the pocket. They are a great budget nappy and a great way to build your stash without spending a fortune!

To begin with, the prints...OMG! They are very cute and rather a big variety to choose from.
The most important is that it's budget friendly and amazing quality for what you pay.
I only put 4 stars because of the pocket opening, it's not very convenient as it is rather small.
Other than that, I totally recommend Alva nappies for people that are new to cloth and are experimenting with what suits them best.
Great cheaper option for building a stash

I love my alvas.
I really do. Lots of fun prints. Wing snaps on the hips to avoid strange tab placement/tabs poking out. Very strong snaps (I've had to replace some snaps in other brands of nappies but my alvas are still going strong).
The pocket is a little on the small side for stuffing, but folding the insert down the middle (like a taco) takes care of that issue.
Again, not a fan of mf inserts but with another insert in these are a really good starting nappy. Nothing wrong with cheap and cheerful.

These nappies are definitely good for the price, but to be honest they do need to be boosted with an additional booster, we use a bamboo booster along with the MF booster that it comes with. I wouldnt rush to buy another.
Fantastic starter/Lower budget option

Alva nappies are one of the cheapest cloth nappy options Iíve come across, this makes them perfect for those who are unsure/trialling cloth nappies, or those on a smaller budget.
As for absorbency, we found that there was no use using a single insert for our 8 month old daughter, she would soak it in half an hour. After trying a variety of things we now go for two basic Alva inserts for a short use nappy but for anything over an hour and a half we use a basic Alva and a baba and boo bamboo insert or two basic And one charcoal Alva insert and these work a treat.
The other issue we had with these is the fit around the legs, unless we use multiple inserts the fit is far too loose and we an get leaks. The second layer of poppers at the top of the nappy really help here and with the right inserts and fiddling we get the right fit and no leaks.
All of these problems can be sorted with the right inserts and working out the best fit for your baby. The nappies themselves are beautiful prints and a great quality of make.

I love this nappy, it is by far my favourite. You can put any inserts you like in the pocket to boost absorbancy. The prints are beautiful and its a great price
