The newborn nappy from Close is an affordable way to bridge the gap between tiny baby, and birth to potty sizing. It is designed specifically to be used on a tiny or preemie baby straight from birth. This is a nappy that we often recommend for the stage of high frequency changes in those first few weeks. It fits from just 5lbs / 2kg and it shaped to fit well from birth with a contoured front section to sit comfortably below the umbilical cord.
What is it made from?
The outer shell is a waterproof TPU layer, and the inner snap in soaker pads are 5 layers of bamboo terry with a top layer of stay-dry polyester. These nappies fasten with easy hook & loop fastenings on stretchy tabs.
What else will I need?
The design of this nappy means that at change time you can replace the absorbent soaker with a fresh one, reusing the outer shell as long as it is not soiled. These are available to purchase separately. If you want to use cloth nappies full-time from birth, please see the newborn nappy packs here, which are the most economical way to buy.
How do I use it?
The newborn nappy is intended for lower wetting, high frequency changing that is oh so common in those first few weeks. The outer shell can be easily wiped clean and re-used if not soiled, leaving you to just switch the soaker over at change time. These nappies can be use for both day and night use, and boosters are available for periods of high wetting.
